Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors governs the Clear Water Academy Foundation. It ensures Clear Water Academy and its faculty fulfill its mission to educate Catholic Christian leaders as a top-ranked school. The Board sets policy and hires and oversees the Executive Director to manage the school's day-to-day operations. All CWA Foundation Board Members reside in Calgary, AB, including priests and local lay members.
Greg Oberti, Board Chair
Greg is a Partner in the Capital Projects & Infrastructure team in Calgary and is PwC Canada’s Energy Transition Leader. He has over 20 years of experience advising both private and public companies on a wide range of corporate activities. He has experience in capital planning, deal structuring, modeling, financing, strategy and operational optimization and moved to Calgary from Geneva, Switzerland where he previously worked at one of the world's largest commodity trading firms. He has worked in over 15 countries and speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish fluently. Greg is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia and teaches at the University of Calgary where he delivers undergraduate and graduate courses in Project & Infrastructure Finance. He was recognized for his contributions by the Government of Alberta with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2023 and has recently been elected as a Fellow by CPA Alberta. Outside of work, Greg is an avid skier and aviation enthusiast holding multiple pilot licenses. Greg and his wife, Jordann, have three children at Clear Water Academy.
Sean Maxwell, Vice-Chair
Sean is a lawyer and partner with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, practicing as a member of the Pensions, Benefits and Executive Compensation Group. Called to the bars of both Ontario and Alberta, his practice touches on all issues relating to pension, employee benefits, and deferred compensation plans including fiduciary duties, income tax and securities law compliance, ongoing plan administration and compliance issues, disputes over the use of plan assets, development and documentation of pension, employee benefit and deferred compensation plans, and issues arising from corporate transactions and commercial insolvencies. Sean is also a member of the firm's Associates Committee. Sean is also active in the community, serving as the Secretary of the Calgary Girls Choir Society and is the Together in Action coordinator for St. Michael Catholic Community. Sean and Theresa's three daughters all attend Clear Water Academy.
Andrea Bernal, Director
Andrea Bernal is a Professional Engineer in the province of Alberta, with 20 years of experience in reservoir engineering. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in reservoir characterization from the University of Calgary. During her career, she has had the opportunity to work on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects not only in Canada but also internationally, in countries like Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, and the Middle East. Andrea is currently the President of AnBound Energy Inc., an energy subsurface consulting company based in Calgary. She and her team provide engineering and geological consulting services to clients in Canada and overseas.
Together with her husband, Dubert, they have two young sons who have attended CWA since 2014. At CWA, Andrea and her family discovered Regnum Christi and she and her husband have been members since 2017. Andrea and Dubert are regular volunteers at CWA and very involved in Regnum Christi and their church communities. Andrea is passionate about Catholic evangelization and married couples' enrichment programs and support. She also supports various organizations that focus on parental freedom of education and constitutional rights in Canada. Andrea is looking forward to sharing the gifts God has granted her with Clear Water Academy for many years to come.
Tom Bieschke, Director
Tom is a professional engineer, and the Chairman, President, CEO, & Co-Founder of Caltex Trilogy, a growing private E&P company with operations in Western Canada. Prior thereto, Tom co-founded Caltex Resources, Caltex Energy, and Krang Energy which were also private E&P companies that were successfully sold. Tom is/has been on the Board of Directors of several other private E&P companies and one service company. Tom has Bachelor of Science Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. Tom is active in the community and coaching with various sports associations that his sons are active within. Tom and his wife, Stephanie, have three sons who attend or are alumni of Clear Water Academy. Tom is the Chairman of the Fundraising Committee.
Dan Britton, Director
Dan Britton was the founder of Chariot Carriers, a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of child carrier products for active families. Chariot became a worldwide market leader, with its products distributed in over 20 countries. In 2011 Chariot was acquired by Thule Inc, a leading outdoor and automotive accessory company. Dan continued to work at Thule as Director of Innovation for its ‘Active with Kids’ division until 2020. Since then, Dan and his wife Jodie have opened and operated health clinics focused on treating pelvic floor-related issues.
Dan graduated with a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Calgary in 1989. Dan has been active in his community, including various volunteer roles at his parish and with his children’s sports teams. He has been a CWA Foundation board member since 2012 and is a past Chairman.
Dan and Jodie have seven children – three are currently attending CWA and four are CWA alumni. Their oldest child started at CWA in 2002, and they are excited to journey with the school for many more years.
Fr. Avinash Colaҫo, Director
Fr. Avinash Colaҫo was born in Goa, India. He joined the Seminary of the Society of the Missionaries of St. Francis Xavier, Pilar, Goa, India. In 2000, he was accepted as a Seminarian into the Diocese of Calgary and was ordained to the Priesthood by Bishop Frederick Henry in June 2003 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Calgary. During his time with the Diocese of Calgary, he has served in various roles; Associate Pastor at St. Luke’s and St. Albert the Great Parishes in Calgary, Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish in Brooks, St. Peter’s Parish, and Ascension Catholic Parish in Calgary. He is currently the Rector of St. Mary’s Cathedral and also provides leadership for the Feed the Hungry Program. When not serving others within the Diocese and beyond, Fr. Avinash might be found tapping into his love of music or involved in various sports, either as a spectator or a participant.
Aaron J. Noga, Director
Aaron is a self-employed independent businessman and a former partner at one of the largest global professional service firms in the world. He is a self-driven and ambitious senior strategic finance leader with extensive experience who is enthusiastic about growing businesses with high-performing executive teams. He has extensive experience in a variety of industries including private equity, real estate and construction, financial services, and energy and oilfield-related services. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Great Distinction) degree from the University of Saskatchewan and has been a Chartered Professional Accountant for 25 years. Aaron has also been involved with various community and charitable organizations and has held several positions as a Board member and treasurer of Obesity Canada, Kindred Connections Society (formerly Catholic Family Services), and the Calgary Public Library. He is also a member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Audit, Risk and Finance Committee as a member at large. He was formerly a Board member and treasurer of the Saskatchewan Pipe Band Association and was the treasurer of the North American Pipe Band Association in Salt Lake City, UT. Aaron has been a member of the Clear Water Academy Finance Committee since 2015 and joined the Board of Directors in 2016.
Coline Vos, Director
Teacher with the school. Her teaching skills and leadership culminated with her work as the Dean of Academics for the elementary school. Coline is a member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Calgary where she is completing her training to deliver respite care in the community through the parish. Since retiring from full-time teaching,
she and her husband, John, are raising their 7 children and grandparenting three toddlers. Clear Water Academy will always have a piece of her heart and she has a close affiliation with the mission and goals of the school.
Kristos Iatridis
Kristos is a lawyer and a partner at Bennett Jones LLP where he is co-head of the firm’s Commercial Transactions Practice Group. In his practice, Kristos advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, commercial agreements and insolvency matters. With over 20 years of experience, Kristos has represented a wide range of Canadian and international clients, including private equity funds, manufacturing companies, service companies, energy companies, airlines and utilities, among others. Kristos is highly regarded by his clients and his peers for providing practical and business-oriented advice. Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Kristos holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science (with Great Distinction) from the University of Regina and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia. Kristos and his wife, Viki, have two children enrolled at Clear Water Academy, both of whom have been with the school since Junior Kindergarten.
Fr. Janick Caouette, Director
Fr. Janick Caouette was born in Dolbeau-Missassini, Quebec. He entered the Legionaries of Christ in 1999 at the Cornwall Novitiate in Ontario. During his internship practices, he supported Fr. Kenneth LeBlanc in his work with Regnum Christi and Vocational work with young men. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy and theology at the Regina Apostolorum University in Rome.
He was ordained priest at the Basilica of Saint Paul in Rome in 2010, following which, he worked for three years as a teacher and chaplain at the Cornwall Novitiate. In 2013, he was transferred to Montreal as a local superior and associate pastor. From 2015 to 2021, he was sent to Oaklawn Academy in Wisconsin, where he supported the local Legionary community as a superior and chaplain for the school. Oaklawn was an international middle school boarding program. In the summer of 2021, he was transferred to Sacred Heart Apostolic School, which is the Minor Seminary of the Legionaries of Christ in the North American Territory. It is also a boarding program for middle and high school-aged students who are open to the idea of priesthood and have a desire to learn to become Christian Leaders. There, Fr. Janick worked as a chaplain and assistant administrator.
Since August 2024, Fr. Janick has been assigned to the Calgary Locality as a community superior and Regnum Christi chaplain for adult men and women.
