Crusaders Hall of Fame:

2010 Inductee: Eve Christianson (Class of 2008).

Eve was a multisport athlete at Clear Water Academy. She led the High School girls basketball team to the schools first ever high school zone championship and berth in the Provincial Championships in March of 2007. She also excelled at volleyball, and track and field as a city champion high jumper. Her enthusiasm for sports was matched only with her sportsmanship. Eve now attends the University of Dallas.

2011 Inductees: Chiara & Dominic Toselli (Class of 2009).

The Toselli twins were integral members of the inaugural Crusaders High School Athletics teams. Both were two time Crusaders High School Athletes of the Year, and were key members of the first Crusaders teams to win Zone Championships and advance to the Provincial Championships. Chiara was a key member of two zone championship basketball teams, and one in volleyball. In Dominic's Grade 11 year, our high school boys basketball team went undefeated in league play and advanced to the Provincial Championships. They participated in a variety of sports, but shone on the volleyball and basketball courts.

2012 Inductees:

Ryan Pernal (Class of 2010)

Ryan was another multisport athlete. Ryan had outstanding contributions to volleyball, basketball, track and field, and soccer. He was a member of the first two CWA boys teams to advance to Provincials in basketball, in his Grade 10 and 12 years as Calgary Zone Champions. Ryan was also the captain of the Crusaders volleyball team his Grade 12 year. Ryan captured CISAA Championships in triple jump several times in his career, and also contributed to our soccer teams with several championship seasons. Ryan now attends the University of Calgary and has returned to Crusaders Athletics as an assistant coach to our high school basketball team.

Paul Hudec (Builder, Staff 1999-2011)

Paul Hudec was a staff member at CWA for 12 years, and for the majority of that time was our Principal. He oversaw the development of Crusader Athletics from its beginnings to being a perennial powerhouse at our level. Paul was often seen at sporting events cheering on our athletes, and volunteered his time to coach our Grade 7/8 boys basketball team for years, and our golfers.

2013 Inductee: Chelsea Kaluzny (Class of 2011)

Chelsea was a Crusaders Athlete in multiple sports including volleyball, basketball, and was a key member of our inaugural team handball team.  A leader on and off the court, Chelsea played on 7 zone championship teams in her high school athletic career and captained many of them.   Volleyball was her true passion, as she served as setter of the high school team for four years beginning in Grade 9, and the team improved its performance each and every year.  Her athletic career at CWA ended capturing a Provincial Silver Medal in team handball as the goalie. 

2014 Inductees:

Luke Christianson (Class of 2012)

Luke was a member of the Class of 2012, one of the most athletic classes to progress through and graduate from CWA.   Luke was a multisport athlete, focussing on volleyball, basketball, handball, and soccer in high school years.  Outside of school, Luke was a soccer force, training year round with Foothills Soccer.   Luke went on to play NCAA Soccer at the University of Dallas.  He contributed his talents to CWA's soccer teams as well.   During his high school years, Luke captured a zone championship in basketball, volleyball, and handball competing in three provincial championships. 

Hailey White (Class of 2012)

Hailey White is one of the most dominant athletes to ever put on a Crusader Jersey.  Hailey was also a member of the Class of 2012.   At CWA she was a multisport athlete.  Her high school athletic career saw her capture 10 zone championships in volleyball, basketball, and team handball.  She also won a CISAA Championship in badminton in Grade 10, and competed in Crusaders soccer.  In the Fall of 2011, she led the Crusaders Girls Volleyball team to our school's first and only (to date) Provincial Championship in volleyball.   Hailey went on to play NCAA Volleyball at the University of Dallas.  Hailey was also the first Crusader athlete to be named CISAA Athlete of the Year, an honour she received in June of 2012.  Here is a feature on Hailey from October 2011 as CTV Calgary's Athlete of the week.

2016 Inductee Andy Mai (Class of 2014)

Andy Mai is truly one of a kind.   Andy played a variety of sports throughout his Crusaders career including volleyball, basketball, handball, badminton, soccer, and track and field.   Basketball and handball were definitely the sports he shone in.   Andy left CWA as one of our most decorated male athletes ever with 3 Provincial Bronze medals.  He was team captain of the Boys basketball team that won Provincial Bronze in 2012.   He also played on two handball provincial bronze teams.   Andy was also the starting setter on the volleyball team in Grade 10 and 11.  Andy won our Male Athlete of the Year award in 2014 and was a two time winner of our Sportsman of the Year Award.   Similar to Hailey, he was also featured as the CTV Athlete of the Week although the clip did not make Youtube.  Andy's leadership skills were matched only by his positive attitude, and tenacity on the court.   Andy is a gym rat doing everything he could to help out around the gym setting up, scorekeeping, and helping officiate games.  He has returned to CWA to help coach and referee both years since graduating.
